*** Long Beach and Detroit ratify new National Class Rules ***

Long Beach and Detroit have now ratified the new National Rules; Port Huron will be voting on the rules May 16, 2008. Early indications are that Port Huron will most likely move to adopt the National standard. Felix Basadre of Long Beach has been in communications with Brian Shenstone of Detroit, Jason Latham of Port Huron and Charlie Husar of Annapolis. While a date has not been set for the Annapolis vote, Charlie and the Annapolis fleet are working diligently to make it happen. Congratulations to Detroit and hopefully Port Huron as well! This is an exciting time for Cal25 racing, it is anticipated that very soon, all fleets will be racing under one set of rules. Cal25 racing has been around for nearly 40 years with large fleets in every coast and inland waterway. However, they have never raced for a true National Championship governed by a universally accepted set of rules. “We are very excited about the prospects of finally having a true set of National Rules. This brings legitimacy to all Cal25 fleets racing for a national title and is long overdue” said Felix Basadre of Fleet V in Long Beach California.
